How do I register an account?

Click the "Create Account" button in the top-right corner of any page. Fill in your username, email address, and a strong password. After submitting, you'll receive a verification email. Click the link in that email to activate your account and start participating.

How do I edit my profile?

Go to your profile by clicking your avatar in the navigation bar and selecting "My Profile". Then click the "Edit Profile" button. From there you can update your display name, bio, location, website, and social links. Don't forget to click "Save Changes" when you're done.

How do I set my avatar and cover image?

Visit your profile settings and click on the avatar or cover photo area to upload a new image. Supported formats are JPG, PNG, and WebP. Avatars should be at least 200x200 pixels, and cover images should be 1200x300 pixels for the best display.

What is email verification and how do I verify my email?

Email verification confirms that you own the email address you registered with. Shortly after signing up, you'll receive an email with a verification link. Click the link to verify. If you didn't receive the email, check your spam folder or request a new verification email from your account settings.

How does the reputation system work?

Reputation points are earned when other members like your posts or mark your answer as a solution. You receive +10 reputation per like and +25 when your answer is accepted as the solution. Higher reputation unlocks additional forum features like creating polls and uploading files.

How do I create a new topic?

Navigate to the category where you want to post and click the "New Topic" button. Give your topic a clear, descriptive title, write your content using the editor, choose relevant tags, and click "Publish Topic".

How do I reply to a topic?

Scroll to the bottom of any topic page and you'll find the reply editor. Type your response, format it as desired, and click "Post Reply". You can also quote a specific post by clicking the quote icon on that post.

How do I format my posts using markdown?

The forum supports Markdown formatting. Use **bold** for bold text, *italic* for italics, `code` for inline code, and ``` for code blocks. You can also create lists with - or *, headings with #, and blockquotes with >. A full formatting guide is available on the Help page.

How do I upload and embed images?

When writing a post, click the image icon in the editor toolbar or drag and drop an image directly into the editor. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. Images are automatically resized and optimized for the web.

How do I mention or tag other members?

Type @ followed by the member's username (e.g. @johndoe) in your post. A dropdown will appear with matching usernames as you type. Select the correct member to create a mention. The mentioned member will receive a notification.

How do I earn badges?

Badges are awarded automatically for various achievements. For example, you earn the "First Post" badge after your first topic, "Popular" when a topic receives 100 likes, and "Helper" when you mark 10 solutions. Visit your profile's Badges tab to see all available badges and your progress.

How do I report a post or user?

Click the flag icon on any post to submit a report. Select the reason from the dropdown and add any relevant context. To report a user directly, visit their profile and click the "Report User" link. All reports are reviewed by the moderation team and your identity remains anonymous.

What happens when I receive a warning?

Warnings are issued by moderators when a member violates community guidelines. You'll receive a notification explaining the violation and any actions you need to take. Accumulating multiple warnings may result in temporary suspension or permanent ban depending on the severity.

How are moderators selected?

Moderators are selected from trusted, active community members who consistently demonstrate helpful behavior and a thorough understanding of forum guidelines. Moderator applications open periodically and are reviewed by the existing moderator team and site administrators.

Can I delete my own posts?

You can edit your posts within 30 minutes of posting. After that window, edits and deletions need to be handled by a moderator. Use the report button to request moderator assistance with any post changes.

How do I reset my password?

On the login page, click "Forgot Password?" Enter your registered email address and we'll send you a password reset link. Click the link in the email to create a new password. For security, password reset links expire after one hour.

How do I change my email address?

Go to your Account Settings page and locate the Email section. Enter your new email address and current password to confirm the change. A verification email will be sent to the new address. Your email will not be updated until you verify it.

How do I delete my account?

Account deletion is handled through your Account Settings page. Scroll to the bottom and click "Delete Account". You'll be asked to confirm your password and the deletion reason. Note that account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

How do I manage notification settings?

Visit your Settings page and select the Notifications section. From there you can control which activities trigger notifications: replies to your topics, mentions, likes, private messages, and system announcements. You can choose between email and in-browser notifications.

How do I change my username?

Go to your Account Settings page and find the Username section. Enter your desired new username and confirm your password. Usernames can only be changed once every 30 days to maintain consistency and prevent confusion within the community.
